Gel plate printing has become increasingly popular. More and more people are discovering the versatility of this creative process. Every pull/print from your plate has a surprise quality, as you never know exactly what you will get. The more you play and let go of control, the more you understand, and the more you start to master the art of gel plate mono printing.

This class is designed for both beginners and more advanced students. Create your own animal, bird, or flower image, use Kathy’s stencils, or bring leaves from your favorite plants. If you do not wish to work with a solid form you may explore abstract designs.

You will learn how to:

• Establish your color palette for high or low contrast.
• Create your “stash” of prints.
• Achieve both positive and negative prints.
• Create special effects.
• Vary background texture and color qualities.
• Create complex and mysterious prints through multiple layers.
• Make more exciting prints with abstract layout designs.

The best part of gel plate printing is that it is FUN and ENERGIZING! Everyone always creates something delightful and satisfying. Turn your artwork into a matted print, greeting card, or bookmark!

You may think you are not creative, but I will prove you otherwise in this program!

Come and join me for a fun day of creative flow, and let the stress of life fade into the background. Learn this wonderful creative process, or take what you already know to an entirely new level.

No experience required.  Returning students receive advanced techniques.

Bring:
Pencil, pen, notebook, water, and big day snack. If you have interesting paper you want to print on (newspaper, newsprint, tissue, old ledgers, old books) bring those. Bring a lunch and/or snacks.

Minimum 4 students.  Maximum 8 students.
