Are you wanting to try something new and exciting with your paint brush? This two-day workshop on watercolor batik demonstrates the technique of combining watercolor and wax on Kinwashi Rice paper.  It is an exciting process that incorporates layers of watercolor and wax to reveal a final painting that is truly unique. The two-day workshop will enable participants to experiment and explore, as well as create a final piece.  If you are a water-colorist, bring your paints and brushes.

Nancye will provide paint, brushes, and palettes for those that do not have them.  She will also provide magazines and images to choose from if students don’t have an image they have brought.

$15.00 Materials fee to be paid directly to Nancye at the start of the workshop

Minimum 5 students.  Maximum 10 students.  

Notes

Nancye will provide paint, brushes, and palettes for those that do not have them.  She will also provide magazines and images to choose from if students don’t already have an image to work from.

The Kinwashi rice paper, acid free foam core and Micron pen are the material costs. These are to take home along with a detailed instruction sheet.

Lunch: Students will bring their own lunch

Age/Experience: Adults Only, some experience preferred but not necessary.

About The Instructor:

Nancye Culbreath is from Monticello, Utah.  Canyonlands, Arches National Park, Monument Valley, and Natural Bridges are practically in Culbreath’s backyard. These locations offer a wealth to paint and many of her paintings reflect canyon landscapes. Since moving to Utah Culbreath has been painting full time when she is not hiking the canyons and sightseeing or working on their property of 7 acres. She has been an artist at Gallery Moab, and is currently represented at the Kayenta Art Village, in St. George, Utah.
